OUR CASES
Upcoming Legal Cases
The programme has teams preparing to launch legal actions (to be announced once resources are in place) on behalf of victims of Russia’s war in several jurisdictions, including UK, EU, USA and Middle East.
Lawyers, investigators and campaigners across the globe are invited to contact the programme with potential ideas for legal actions that could be supported by the programme.
Wagner Group Court Case
The first class action legal case within the programme has already been commenced against the Wagner Group and its notorious founder - Yevgeny Prigozhin. The case has been launched in the UK on behalf of Ukrainian victims of Vladimir Putin's illegal war.
This landmark legal action in the UK directly targets members of Putin's war machine for their terrorism against the civilian population of Ukraine. A successful judgment will be enforced around the world against sanctioned and non-sanctioned assets associated with the Wagner Group and those that materially support them. The goal is to directly seize and transfer those assets to the Ukrainian people.
This case will prove that Wagner is a terrorist organisation; it will mark the first time victims have sued an organization for its intentional use of terrorism as a weapon of war. This legal action will demonstrate the use of terrorism and an ‘unlawful means’ conspiracy between the Wagner Group and Putin (and his kleptocracy) to terrorise the people of Ukraine.
The Wagner Group played a central role of terrorism in the destruction of Ukraine:
- It was Wagner Group that has been linked to war crimes (including rape and torture as weapons of war).
- It was the Wagner Group that targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure.
- It was the Wagner Group terrorism that committed the horrific atrocities in Bucha.
- It was the Wagner Group that recruited the most violent criminals from Russian high-security prisons to fight in Ukraine.
The action seeks actual reparations style damages for the Ukrainian victims to help rebuild Ukraine after Putin is finally pushed out of the country.
